Recent positive feedback highlights the welcoming atmosphere and efficient service, while older reviews report issues with room size, temperature regulation, and communication regarding fees.
Warning: Do NOT stay at the Tru Hotel by Hilton off Bass Rd in North Macon, GA. This hotel charges all kinds of extra fees without warning. The room 415 was booked as Accessible, it was so small that my wife could not even turn her wheelchair around she had to back in and out, No chest of drawers only shelves to set clothes on, no closet only hooks to hang clothes up. When we checked out I was told I could not have a receipt because I booked thru a third party. I asked to speak to a manager she called him and was told no receipt. Now i have travelled a lot for business I have booked many hotel rooms thru third parties like Trivago, hotels.com and even my companies own service. I always got a receipt for my expense report. The point is I now have no idea how much I am going to be charged for the room. Checking my credit card online I have found a credit of $18 and a fee for $25 with no advance warning of the fee and no explanation of what the fee is, and so far no charge for the room itself. This hotel is not running a fair upfront business. Finally, there were other customers at check out complaining about excessive fees that they were not told about, and two different fees for similar rooms on the same day. This was a mother daughter combo.
Our stay here was extremely disappointing. The air conditioner was broken and in the middle of the night woke us up with an incredibly loud noise that would not turn off. We ended up having to change rooms and move all of our things because they did not have any maintenance on site. We were hoping to talk to someone about our stay but were told there was not a manager on site and that the front desk staff could not do anything to help us. We checked out on Sunday and we were told that a manager would give us a call that Monday. We never received a call. We then followed up with the hotel ourselves and was told that the manager was unavailable and that he would again call us back. We again never received any communication from anyone and it has been two weeks since our stay now. This was overall a very disappointing stay and I would not stay here again.
My experience here was positive from start to finish. The front desk staff handled check-in efficiently. The room had effective climate control and comfortable bedding. I found the breakfast to be convenient before heading out early. The accessible lift made movement around the building easy. The parking area was spacious and clearly marked. It’s a dependable hotel in Macon.
Wow what an amazing stay! CLEAN!! They got us in late after a bad situation that we had to leave the Choice hotel in Forsyth. This was what we needed after a safety issue late at night at the other place. The room was the cleanest we have ever experienced. Breakfast was great. Hot foods hot. Juices were cold and refreshing. The dining area was spotless! The day shift clerk on 2/22/26 was so personable and seemed happy to be there. Definitely will stay again.
Check in was quick and easy. My stay was nice for the week, but I will give some pros and cons. First, the Pros were … great location with a lot of stores around. Quiet hotel. Great breakfast in the morning. Nice gym and pool table. Staff was helpful and friendly, even when they needed to change my room due to the heat not working properly. Now the Cons…. The heating system is not consistent and very loud and never really turns off. The shower pressure is very low. And the pillows are way too soft for me, my head kept sinking into them. Made it harder to keep comfortable and sleep. But the bed was very comfortable. But I would indeed stay here again.
Very nice, one night stay. Very clean and well maintained. Room was quiet, bed comfortable. Check-in employee was very pleasant and efficient. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast items available at 6am
I am rating this as compared to other hotels in the $120 to $160 price range. This is a very nice hotel. It is clean, well organized, it seems fairly new and there are surprising amenities like a pool table and ps4. We only stayed there one night. A couple areas for improvement. The breakfast is very basic although the coffee was better than average. My room heater seemed a little noisy and the bathroom vent made this odd knocking noise unless you turned it on. But overall a very nice hotel considering what we paid. The people at the reception desk were friendly and warm with their greetings.
Bed and shower were amazing. Breakfast was outstanding. Clean organized smelled great. Love the shampoo conditioner body wash lotion hand soap provided. Large TVs. Plenty of safe parking. Friendly staff acted like a happy family loving their jobs and doing it well
Overall lovely hotel, I really like it. I wanted to take one star off for no microwave but couldn’t do it lol. I travel for work and microwaves are a must for multiple-day stays… therefore, I’ll probably stay next door at Homewood where I’ve been staying… unless of course the microwave is back
Customer service was good but our room was very cold. We turned the heat up but it never really warmed up all night. Breakfast was just ok. Water pressure was a little low. Room was clean and bed was ok .
