Recent reviews of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Macon-North paint a mixed picture, with some praising cleanliness and friendly staff, while others express disappointment due to renovations and ongoing construction. Concerns center around outdated furnishings, inconsistent room conditions, and issues with breakfast quality and accessibility. The property's value proposition appears to be declining relative to its price point.
I have been staying at this property for 10+ years. I had been traveling elsewhere did not know about the renovations. While the former rooms needed refreshing what they have done here is a complete downgrade of the property. I searched online and two goals were in mind for this renovation, first, to appeal to the younger traveler with the minimalist furnishings second, less maintenance and more profit for the owner. Well I am a well-seasoned traveler who enjoys a comfortable room. This property at onetime was like coming hoe to an apartment or in some ways a well appointed destination. Neither is true, you walk into a living room area which is all tile flooring which screams cheap! the furniture looks like it came from a discount store. the lighting in the room is sparse and they removed the shower doors replaced by a shower curtain. The room was clean as I would hope a newly remodeled room would be but at best disappointing. The rooms do not live up to the price point they ask for at times over 200.00 a night depending on availability. The staff as always was very friendly and accommodating in every way. I just cannot believe what has been done to this property we enjoyed so much for so long. I know it is a matter of perception and many if not most will like it fine. me, not so much. I do not anticipate staying here again. Thank You
Welcoming, clean, comfortable rooms. Close to anything you could need on the way to your next destination. Great service too, and I’ll be staying there again on my way back to Florida.
Excellent rooms. Newly remodeled. The room was very clean and very spacious. No one was banging around all night. It was a quiet and peaceful stay. The location is perfect as well, right across from Bass Pro Shops. Will stay again the next time I am in Macon.
Rooms could use an update but overall clean and good amenities. We use the grill out by the pool and consider it a nice option vs going out to eat every night.
Really mixed review on this location. We stopped overnight during a trip and while I would not characterize it as enjoyable, we would be willing to stay here again if needed. The hotel is reportedly being remodeled; and apparently they had not reached our room yet. The room was well worn but clean. The cabinet under the sink was missing and several tiles in the bathroom are cracked. My only input would be the value of the room seemed a little high than I would have expected. Only real concern with the roo. Was the door latch would not keep the door shut and must be deadbolt at all times. Breakfast was an extreme let down as things were cooked/heated very poorly. I think this was because of what they were serving as prepared food and not a reflection on the staff trying to do the best they can with what they have. HEADS UP, NO WAFFLES. Also, they were running 20-30 minutes behind so we were forced to grab a few basic snacks and later get drive-thru breakfast on the road. We would have been extremely disappointed if we had planned to be here a week but an quick overnight pit stop was workable.
Really nice rooms and really sweet lady at the front desk. I knew when I booked the hotel that the hotel was under construction but I didn't know that that meant that they were going to be pounding on walls right next door to my room until after 7 p.m. super frustrating! If you're looking to get off the road for a relaxing evening this is definitely not the place.
Great hotel. Friendly employees. Actually really good breakfast, comfy bed. A/C was a bit loud, but it doesn't bother me, and it worked well, and that's what is important. The area / location seems safe. I would definitely stay here again.
5 stars or more is my rating. The staff was always pleasant and provided excellent customer service. My room was always clean and stocked with whatever I needed. The breakfast was the best I've ever had when staying in a hotel, Thank you Ms. Helen and Thank you Homewood/Hilton.
Our JULY 24TH - 27TH stay at the H2H Suite on Bass Rd, in Macon GA. The decision to choose this property was influenced by positive reviews. Given the room rates, the state of disrepair is concerning. The decision to choose this property was influenced by positive reviews. As a HILTON HONOR member, I've choosen these facilities because they have been the best for comfort and security. This facility was a disappointment for me personally. The staff was friendly, food area clean and delicious. Our room was clean and bedding comfortable. The accessible bathroom room 127 was a huge safety issue. The baseboard near the shower fell on the floor, there's mold in the shower corners, drain and around the accessible bars. The shower seat pulled from the wall and could have been a huge issue for a disabled person as myself. The shower curtain torn. I did report this to the front desk. Despite this, management has not followed up. The money we spent was certainly not worth this type of room (room 127). I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with my stay here. Yes! I asked for another accessible room, but there was none available for my needs.
The only thing that I can say is that the hotel is close to the I 75. The room, was nothing out of the ordinary, the service was horrible, to start, I have to say, the maids leave the bathroom almost without toilet paper, yes, two almost empty rolls, and no shampoo. The people who are in charge of the breakfast are very slow, and you don't have many varieties, you need to be patient and wait for plates or food. I'm totally disappointed with the service in general.
