The Ramada by Wyndham Macon receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location and recent renovations. However, numerous complaints center around inconsistent service, unsanitary conditions, and unexpected fees, particularly regarding pet deposits and room charges. Recent stays have highlighted issues with noise, staff responsiveness, and the overall cleanliness of the property.
No breakfast! I couldn't take a strawberry yogurt to the baby in the room. 50 cents yogurt The lady won't let you ? so stupid
This was such exceptional value for money! The rooms have been recently renovated and are clean and very welcoming and cozy. The staff is spectacular. The on-site sports bar is top-notch with great service and live music as well as pool tables and darts. This will be our go-to when coming through this area!
First, the front desk clerk over talks and doesn’t listen to the issue. I couldn’t do a sage cleanse of the room because of the smoke detector. Which is understandable, but just to get to the room to find there is no smoke detector in there. And last but not least, the tub wall is either going in or come off the wall in the shower. The updated the sink faucet but not the shower head that looks to be made long time ago. Also, the patch paint in the bathroom, along with the yellow stains on the wall behind the toilet. I would say it was pretty quiet for the most part.
I wish zero stars was an option. After traveling all over the country this was one of the worst experiences I have had by a Wyndham property by far. The manager on duty when I checked in had an attitude for no reason. He saw and confirmed my service animal I signed paperwork and go to my room. The hot water and fridge didn’t work. I am a platinum member and requested a late checkout which should be free. The woman at the desk was sweet and said yes then calls back and says her manager says that I would have to be charged. I tell her it says it’s supposed to be free according to my app and I can show her. I go down to the front the manger from the night before is there and says they don’t offer it and he would charge me if I stayed. I say that she should have just said it wasn’t available instead of trying to charge me. I gather my things to leave before 11 and get my receipt. The manager tried to steal my money!!! After leaving he added the pet fee for my SERVICE ANIMAL without my knowledge. It was disgusting. No one should have to deal with people like that. ADDED FOR RESPONSE. - that is absolutely not the case he asked me out right if he was a service animal and I confirmed. When you check in you sign something for the pet fee. He waited until after I left to add it. I was told it would take 15 min for water to heat up and it never did. I went to pick up my receipt and had to make sure everything was returned. It was an almost completely empty hotel so I’m sure people were clambering to get in. He either didn’t want to have the hotel staffs’ schedule messed up because I asked to stay later or misused what little power he had because for whatever reason he didn’t like me. You’re simply not telling the truth. He should not be working in hospitality if this is how he treats your travelers.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very nice. We were especially pleased with one particular staff member. We had hoped to sit by the pool because it was a nice day though too cool to get in the water. When we got to the pool, we found that all of the gates were locked so we did the next best thing which was sit on the bench outside the fence. We didn't ask the front desk to unlock the gates because we just assumed the pool was closed for the season. Much to our surprise and without us asking, a woman motioned us to the gates and she unlocked them! She clearly sensed what we wanted to do which was amazing. I didn't get her name and she didn't seem to speak English. There were no indications that she was a hotel employee but she obviously was since she had the key. We were so happy she could tell what we wanted to do and took it upon herself to let us in. That really made our day.
This place is a dump. No kidding! It was clean the bed was comfortable. BUT the bathtub was flexible felt like the wood floor underneath was rotten. I booked specifically for the all season pool. I was told to ask to have it unlocked when I wanted to sit and work. Surly man advised it was closed for the season it's 73 degrees Macon. Ga. Soda machine did not work and breakfast was past pitiful. There are many hotels in the vicinity do not stay here. This is the first bad review I have ever posted.
Location off the highway. Receptionist very polite. I'm trying to fall asleep after driving 9 hours straight, and there is a crazy woman with a baby literally kicking my door hard, waking me and my kids up...not cool. She did it again 10 minutes later. Then she gets checked into the room next to us. Walls paper thin. She's slamming junk, yelling, baby crying. Thought she was on drugs and gonna put bullets through the walls. Called receptionist 3 times. She offered to move us to a different room or refund us at full price. Asked her to refund half. She said she had to check with the manager about that but moved us to a second floor room. Got only 2 hours of sleep. It's not worth $89. I'm pretty angry about this. Gonna wait for a refund or dispute charges since she offered to refund in full.
First off the good, great water pressure in the shower. The mirrors work. About all good Place is filthy. Floors sticky and wiped a wet cloth on the floor and pure dirt. See the picture Smells. Not dog odor, human funk odor. Breakfast buffet not good. Coffee machine didn't work Desk clerk said she didn't know what was wrong with it. I asked to be refunded the $20 pet fee, she said she couldnt do that. Noisy. Bottom line, STAY AWAY!
The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I took a star away only because it was a little outdated and to charge devices, they only had plugs on one side of the bed. The staff were extremely nice. The continental breakfast was offered, but had slim options.
Booked online with no issues Checked in online with no issues by uploading my photo id and entering a cc for incidentals. (At no point was a price listed for this fee, so you would assume it’s just the fee you pay at check out if you destroyed a room.) After online check in I received a message saying swing by the office at any time to get your key. (Awesome) Here is where the trouble starts. -I go to the office window and the new guy or younger guy is welcoming and very polite and wants to be helpful. He goes to get his boss or manager for what I assume is him being untrained and new. - they ask for my id and my cc again which I find odd since I uploaded it. -I ask if there is anything further to be charged on my cc before handing it to them with the id. They answer no, only a fee of 50 at check out if you mess up the room. (Cool, that’s standard) -they go over scan my cards. And the manager walks over and says we’ll need to charge 125.00 as a deposit on the room. -so I was not very happy as it’s 11:22 at night and I just want to sleep. So now I can’t check in because I don’t have another 125 to spend on top of the cost of the room. I told them that is criminal that they didn’t have this astronomical amount posted anywhere and that I had literally checked in online and it wasn’t listed there either. Mind you the room itself only cost 72. -so I tell them to give me my cards back as I can’t afford this and as I start to walk away I say I just want to sleep… The managers exact words were “sucks to suck” So the staff here are being led by a very unprofessional individual. I’m giving 5 stars on location because it is a great location, and 5 stars on the rooms as I never made it that far to see them. I won’t be unfair and give a bad rating where it’s not deserved. Anyway be prepared for insane charges here.
