Great place. Close to everything and clean rooms. Couple small things that happened but no big deal. The AC unit made a pretty loud ticking noise all night and the light on the unit was pretty bright. If you are a total darkness and quiet sleeper you might notice it. Also I used Capital One to book this. I never received the email for the codes to get in. However I called the number on the reservation and they answered quickly and helped me out. I bet if I used their website it would have worked.

The rooms are beautifully appointed. The check-in via email is wonderful and easy! They thought of every possible amenity like toothbrushes, mini tooth pastes, great coffee and tea. The bed is so comfortable with crisp clean sheets. They did not spare an expense even down to a noise machine as you are staying in a downtown hotel! I would stay again!

We received all the check-in and parking instructions before we arrived so the no-contact check-in was easy. We arrived a little early but the staff helped us bring in our baggage. The room was very clean and the linens are high quality. We also loved the original touches of the building and the bed was very comfortable. A great stay.

I wanted to love The Woodward … and in many ways, I did. I want to love everything about Macon, because it’s a small city with such heart, history, and creative energy and it really deserves recognition for all the good that’s happening there. The Woodward reflects that entrepreneurial spirit beautifully. My room was small but very thoughtfully designed, with high-end bedding, tall ceilings, and plenty of stylish details that made it feel intentional and well cared for. It included a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and a large-screen TV that connects through your own streaming accounts … a nice modern touch. This isn’t a traditional hotel but a self-service concept - no staffed front desk, entry via emailed door codes, and parking at a nearby garage (the pass and garage code are inside the room, so you’ll need to double-park briefly to retrieve it). Two separate room blocks are accessed either from the main street or the alley. Signage and emailed instructions are clear, but it’s helpful to know the setup ahead of time. For those who mention in reviews that the property sits on an alley … this is true but I actually think that part of its charm. It feels authentically old-city with exposed brick, quirky layouts, and that slightly worn-but-welcoming aesthetic. It’s definitely not a pristine new build, and that’s what gives it character. The nearby garage serves other properties as well, and hotel parking is on the upper levels. Entry and access can be a little tight, especially for larger or taller vehicles, so plan accordingly. I had requested a quiet room and was given #3, located right beside the alley main entrance. Despite the white noise machine provided, I could hear the coded entry door beeps and closing with each entry, conversations and TVs from neighboring rooms, and the boisterous sounds of nearby nightlife and 2 am trash pickup. These aren’t things the owners can easily fix; it’s just part of being in a lively downtown corridor. So - light sleepers should definitely bring earbuds or perhaps consider alternative accommodations. The attached bar (entered through the property from the interior or off the exterior alley), Quill, is a highlight … dark, moody, and sophisticated, with painted paneled walls and ceilings, a Carrera marble bar, and attentive, welcoming staff. The seating is at the bar and also arranged in small clusters of low tables and comfortable chairs, designed for relaxed conversation - a layout that really enhances the speakeasy feel. The cocktails are excellent and creative, though food options are limited to chips and cheese crackers, so plan to dine elsewhere before stopping in. Overall, The Woodward is a beautifully executed concept in a city that’s working hard to reinvent itself. It’s definitely on the higher end in terms of price, and the experience leans more toward atmosphere than traditional comfort. But if you appreciate design, independence, and the pulse of a city finding its rhythm, you’ll find much to admire here. Just bring good earbuds and an open heart for Macon.

We had noted in our reservation we were staying here for our wedding night as well as followed up to the provided customer service email to inquire about any welcome package or decorating of the room that they may do for the special event. We received no response and walked into a bare room. Most hotels at least provide a complimentary champagne for such day. The room was beautiful, however the walls are quite paper thin and while outside of their control, there was a fire that broke out in the building next door and there were hours of sirens/alarms/and garbage trucks that went on starting at about 1am leading up to 9 am where we decided to just check out and go somewhere else to get some rest. Furthermore, the ac was stuck on a high fan setting which made the room almost arctic and freezing cold. Not quite the wedding night accommodations one would expect when giving the hotel ample notice of the intentions for the reservation.

We were in Macon to catch a show at the Capitol Theatre and I couldn't believe how close we were to the venue. It was perfect for our needs. Rooms were quiet, comfortable and probably the cleanest of any place we've stayed at in recent memory. Worth every penny. I will say, the parking situation will be convenient for almost everyone, but the garage has a very low ceiling and very steep ramps. I was a little nervous trying to fit a crewcab F-250 in there (people passing by on the street said it wouldn't fit). I made it, slowly, while riding with my head out the window, and had about 1 1/2" of clearance to spare at the tightest spot. Location of the garage was so convenient I figured it was worth a shot and it worked out, and of course The Woodward didn't build the garage so you can't blame them. Thing was probably built long before 3/4 ton trucks were so common. If you're in a dually, godspeed.

My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel. So conveniently located, very cute room, amenities, large bathroom, and Quill is an amazing cocktail bar located just down the hall. Highly recommend.

Our room is gorgeous and amazingly comfortable. The best linens, decor, and tea and coffee! At “The Quill” the bartender made outstanding drinks for us! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here!

We came to Macon to attend a concert at Capitol Theater. The Woodward is the perfect location for everything in Downtown Macon. The Quill even helped me surprise my husband with some wine and snacks before the concert.

I absolutely LOVED our stay at The Woodward Hotel! The bed and bedding and pillows were absolute heaven. I actually peaked in duvet to see what the brand the comforter was... it was that comfy. It's a super cute boutique hotel with no staff. Check in was easy, as was check out. It was fairly quiet. It is an old building, so I did hear the folks above us a little bit. They do provide white noise machines.
